“my drawings are absurd but they could make sense in the real world.”
Hungarian-born Balint Zsako is a Toronoto-based illustrator and artist who creates wonderfully hypnotic drawings that are crafted from elements of the dreams you never seem to recall upon awakening.
Zsako has managed to craft his own modern day mythologies by using a visual language that still manages to be sinister yet retain a humour and playful quality to his illustrations.
He is also part of the extraordinary talented Zsako Torma Family who exhibit regularly together, his father Istvan being a sculptor and painter, his mother Anna Torma using part drawing, part collage and part textile art to create her works and his younger brother David makes meticulous pen and ink drawings.
Recuperate have seen a great selection of Balint’s drawings and paintings but since discovering his website we’d agree to have a good old nose through his collages and journals. Although would it kill him to put a next button on his website? I have repetitive strain injury from clicking all those bloody dots.
