Benedict Radcliffe

I had to look at blueprints this morning and it immediately restored in me the sense of how timeless and classic wireframe/blueprint/cad design is, and subsequently I couldn’t help but think of Benedict Radcliffe ‘Lambo’ scultpture.
Benedicts ‘Lambo’ has become almost iconic in the last year or so being posted around the internet from design to car site, with everybody seemingly united in their admiration for it, and maybe that because you can see the true labour of love, craftmanship and attention to detail that he’s gone to in recreating the Lamborghini Countach to a wire frame sculpture. (if you look closely the tyres even say Pirelli)
But for me, the ‘Lambo’ can’t help but remind me of how often people fall in love with the timeless beauty that a classic sports car has, and somehow Benedict’s wireframe sculpture also manages to do just this, joining the exclusive super car pipe dream club and reawakening that adolescent dream of one day owning your own super car, which for me, is why his ‘Lambo’ is so good.
You can see the rest of Benedict’s projects and sculptures on his site below.
