Tintin by Hergé
Today I had a very Sunday nose round a charity shop and found The Adventures of Tintin Volume 5 for £2.
It has rekindled my love for Tintin
The Adventures of Tintin is one of the most popular comics series in the world, with translations published in over 80 languages, and more than 230 million copies of the books sold worldwide. In its scope and innovation, Hergé’s work stands as one of the great achievements of comic art of the twentieth century.
Tin-Tin will take you to another time and place. It has so many visual layers which help create the atmosphere but provide those perfect moments in comics where you stop reading and gaze over the artwork.
Die hard fans would probably prefer to have each book individually but I don’t mind.
As all Tintin fans know, once you’ve read one of the ingenious boy detective’s adventures, you’ve just got to read another. I can’t wait till Monday morning so I have an excuse to read these on the bus to work again.
