Children’s Book Illustrations
I’ve been off from posting so I proper went for it with this woolly mammoth post.
Thousands of children have learned to read with the aid of busy, colorful, generously illustrated books. But what these artists do is more than just helping kids read. With their bright illustrations, simple text, and gentle lessons on sharing and tolerance, their stories have also helped kids grow up and relate to people around them and for that they have become everything I aspire to be.

The explosion of foreign travel for leisure during the 50s and 60s gave birth to the “This is” series. They make super child friendly travel guides and are beautifully illustrated discussing the places, history and presenting drawings of its streets, buildings, bridges, statues, vehicles, and people.

From the cockpit of a Formula 1 racing car to the inside of a movie studio, and from the depths of a medieval castle to the intricate innards of the human body, Biesty’s stunning illustrations draw out the fine and complex details of each subject, allowing the reader to delve deep into the centre of different objects, examining how they work and the history behind them.
A clever idea executed to the highest of standards.

Its as much about the work as about what he says;
When I look at a wildlife or nature subject, I don’t see the feathers in the wings, I just count the wings. I see excitin shapes, color combinations, patterns textures, fascinating behavior and endless possibilities for making interesting pictures. I regard the picture as an ecosystem in which all the elements are interrelated, interdependent, perfectly balanced, without trimming or unutilized parts; and herein lies the lure of painting; in a world of chaos, the picture is one small rectangle in which the artist can create an ordered universe.
A true hero.

long time afterwards.
